While I was serving in the Presiding Bishopric many years ago, I was charged with overseeing the design and development group that created what we named FamilySearch. I am careful to say that I "oversaw" its creation rather than saying I "directed" it. Many brilliant people left careers and came to build what the Lord wanted.
With prayer, diligence, and the personal sacrifice of people of great ability, the task was accomplished. It came step by step.

Inklings

It was windy and almost felt like fall this morning. James thought the missionaries were coming to work on the fence this morning but he said he misunderstood Anthony, they aren't coming until tomorrow. I stubbed my toe on the rocking chair in our bedroom and boy does it hurt. My pinky toe on my left foot and the area around it is all swollen up. I am hobbling around, determined I will get my steps today.

James went to the dump today and also the post office. Since I  ordered the whiteboard to go to Sheri's, several of my books have gone there too. I obviously forgot to change the address back.

I saw two sisters from our ward in Walmart, Paula J., and Amy R. Neither one of them had a mask on. I wore mine into the store but took it off as soon as I got in. The menu for the Grapp includes:
A 3lb roast, Rhodes rolls, mashed potatoes, salad, and Birdseye corn. For dessert I am making Rice Krispy treats because they are Cammy's favorite.  I got everything I needed before James got back to pick me up. Just as I got up front to check out he walked into the store. He helped me at the checkout. He had gone to Circle K for gas and a carwash, and to Tractor Supply for horse feed.

James and I went to town this afternoon. I am taking dinner to the Grapp family tomorrow and I gave them a choice of four dinner and they chose roast beef and mashed potatoes.

James made yellow squash that he bought from Ruthie for lunch. He cooked some in a skillet and some in the air fryer. He preferred what he cooked in the skillet and I liked what he cooked in the air fryer. He likes the yellow squash better than the zucchini but I like them both about the same.

In 1842, when the women of the fledgling Church wanted to form an official group to help in the work, President Joseph Smith felt inspired to organize them "under the priesthood after the pattern of the priesthood." He said, "I now turn the key to you in the name of God . . . this is the beginning of better days." And since that key was turned, educational, political, and economic opportunities for women have begun to gradually expand throughout the world.

Trina had a Zoom meeting around 9 a.m. She went outside and sat behind her car so she could put her phone on the ice chest. Before she knew it, Luna was standing beside her. She said she heard a horse trotting and when she looked up there was Luna. James tried to bribe her with some watermelon, which she ate and then immediately went back to Trina. Finally Trina had to move to the porch. When someone in the meeting noticed the scenery had changed Trina said, "I had to move because of the horse." The brother said, "That's the best reason I've ever heard."

Luna loves Trina's new car, Starla
She also loves Trina

Lola told me she is going to miss Luna more than anybody but I think Ruby will miss her too.
Addy does not trust Luna and she thinks Luna doesn't like her so she didn't ride her or pet her, or even to close to her. Maybe next time.

I couldn't decide which family photo to use, so I posted almost all of them. We decided since Luna loved this family so much we would take their photo with her instead of in front of the door.

Luna saying goodbye to Starla. I think she is going to miss her. I wonder if she sees her reflection and thinks Starla is a horse.

We had the sacrament with Darrel's family. James and Darrel blessed the bread and water and Rowan passed. After the sacrament we all went in to the family room and watched "Drawn In" by David Bowman on the Redheaded Hostess website. I used the HDMI cord from the satellite and connected my computer to the TV. The first video was about Helaman and the stripling warriors. The Lord blessed them because of their faith and courage. The next video was about Moroni writing a scathing letter to Pahoran and Pahoran's gentle response and their fighting the kingmen. There was also a segment about Teancum. Brother Bowman makes the scriptures fun and I think the kids really enjoyed his lesson.

I heated up the baked ziti for lunch and everyone ate some except for Trina and Addy. Darrel and Trina took the sheets off all of the beds they used and washed them and put them back on before they left for home. They had the kids clean upstairs where they stayed and they cleaned the basement. Wow! I certainly do appreciate them.

After we said our goodbyes, James laid down for a nap. It was a short one because he had been asked along with his partner Dave W. to take the sacrament to Barbara Austin who lives in Angel Wings, an assisted living home in our ward. The interesting was that the bishop and Colter had already taken the sacrament to Sister Austin so Dave and James just had a nice visit with her. Their next visit was to Anthony. They took him the sacrament and had a nice visit with him. James was gone about three hours, he didn't get home until almost 5:30 so we missed our FaceTime call with Jared and Kacey.
Our Lambson family study group Zoomed in at 6:00. The topic this week was being a disciple of Christ and all the talks were by Elder Holland. Jared was in charge. Here are the talks:

"How the Priesthood Blesses Youth"
Laudy Ruth Kaouk
Just like God blessed Joseph Smith with the priesthood so that the blessings of the gospel could be restored, we can receive the blessings of the gospel in our lives through the priesthood. Each week we are given the privilege and opportunity of taking the sacrament. Through this priesthood ordinance, we can have the Spirit to always be with us, which can cleanse and purify us. If you feel the need to eliminate something from your life, reach out to a trusted leader who can help you get on the right path. Your leaders can help you to access the full power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

"How The Priesthood Blesses Youth"

Along with our friends and family, the Holy Ghost is one of our most loyal and reliable companions. But in order to have His constant companionship, we must place ourselves in situations and places where He will want to be present. This can begin in our own homes as we work to make the holy places by participating in daily scripture study and prayer as a family, and more important, as we personally study the scriptures and pray on our own.

This is the scripture I sent to Ben this morning:
D&C 84:44-47
44 For you shall live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God
45 For the word of the Lord is truth, and whatsoever is truth is light, and whatsoever is light is Spirit, even the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
46 And the Spirit giveth light to every man that cometh into the world; and the Spirit enlighteneth every man through the world, that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit.
47 And every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit cometh unto God, even the Father.

Is the government trying to control us through the corona virus?
The guy in the video James sent me thinks so. It is a scary concept but when you look at how our lives have changed and the freedoms we have lost over the past five months it makes you wonder. He says that 1.5 million people died of tuberculosis last year but there was no pandemic or wearing of masks because of that. The thing that concerns me the most is how our religious freedoms are being compromised. We cannot attend church or the temple. We are told it is dangerous to gather yet people are gathering for riots all over the country and no one is doing anything about it. My peace and comfort comes from knowing that the Lord is in charge and He will rule and reign in the end.

I went with Trina this morning to Standford station to get gas for the Razr. Darrel and Rowan were working on the fence when we left and we asked if they wanted anything from the store. Rowan wanted a rootbeer if it was okay with his mom. I guess he knows that she doesn't really like him drinking soda but she said yes. Trina and I had a nice visit on the way over and back. We are both concerned about family members who no longer attend church. We came to the conclusion that our responsibility is to just love them and offer hope and encouragement when it is needed.

Darrel, Trina, Addy, and Rowan went on the first Razr ride while Ruby, Lola and I stayed home and did a puzzle. James spent most of the day working on putting in a culvert at the turn in the road and widening the road for Dave Elkins 30 foot trailer. The culvert was full of mud and Dave Elkin allowed Chuck and James to use his 500 gallon water trailer with the power hose to clean the mud out. This is the water trailer that he bought from James. James filled it up once here at our house and we ran out of water. He could tell I was a little upset and when he needed to fill it again he went to Dave's who has a bigger well.

Ruby and Lola got to go on the next ride. Addy and Rowan went again too but Trina stayed at home. There were blankets involved on this ride.

Kerri came by to ask a favor of me this morning and we were sitting on the front porch talking when Luna came over for a visit. Soon Anthony and James came up too and Luna got lots of attention.
Kerri is going down on the 24th to have tests done and will be gone until the 28th. She was wondering if I could do some things with her mom and I told her I would be glad to. I will be gone to the valley on the 25th but I will take her to lunch or go for a ride with her on the 26th and the 27th. She said Liana Grapp was also going to come over and visit with her for awhile. Kerri has kidney disease.

I am feeding the missionaries dinner tonight so the afternoon was spent in the kitchen. I made a double batch of baked ziti, one for the missionaries and one for us. Trina made brownies for the missionaries and also did the salad. I made some garlic bread and we packed everything in throw away containers. The missionaries got lost on their way here to pick up the food so they were a little late in arriving. Elder Falselv and Elder Miller are their names. They seem like nice young men. They came to the door in shorts, t-shirts and masks. They were very grateful for the food and loved our home. They also said if we every needed any service to let them know. I told them about the fence project and said they would love to help. I told them my husband would be contacting them.

After all the food is fixed all is left is to clean the kitchen and eat the ziti and garlic bread. Darrel, Ruby, Rowan and Lola all loved the baked ziti. Darrel also made tri-tip on the grill that had been marinated all day. It was delicious. We also had beans, salad, and corn on the cob. It was quite a meal. I was exhausted and had to lie down for awhile. Addy, Rowan, and Ruby did the dishes.

Up from my little nap I worked on the puzzle we were doing and then Addy, Ruby, Lola and I went into the bedroom to watch "Handcuffed for Christmas." Rowan kept coming in and out but finally settled in the family room with Darrel who was watching something on the TV in there.

I only got about half my steps today so I won't be posting them.
