April General Conference
"Prayers of Faith"
President Henry B. Eyring
We as a people will become more united amid increasing conflict. We will be gathered in the spiritual strength of groups and families filled with gospel light.
Evan an unbelieving world will recognize The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and realize the power of God upon it. Faithful and brave disciples will fearlessly, humbly, and openly take upon them the name of Christ in their everyday lives.

It was 5:22 when I got up this morning. I spent most of the morning catching up on my Inklings study. I need to get up earlier in order to accomplish all of my goals.

I am so happy because I have no more stranded inventory and my books are selling! Woohoo!

For lunch I cooked some of the zucchini that the Goodman's gave us in our air fryer. It turned out deicious and the air fryer is so easy to use. I think I am going to love it. There is supposed to be 75% less fat with the air fryer than normal frying.

James and I both needed to go to town today. He was picking up materials for the fence and so he needed to take the truck. I was going grocery shopping and didn't relish going in the truck yet we wanted to go together. We finally decided it would be better to go separately and then when we got home we would go on a Razr ride together.

I decided to go the back way in case they were working on the road. I took 3144 which turns in to Porter Mountain Rd in Lakeside. I guess I had it in my mind to go this way because Kathy Crane told me that's the way they go. It is definitely the scenic route but there is too much dirt road and it takes way too long.  Walmart was Walmart, crowded with people and bare shelves. They had no corn on the cob which really is annoying to me. It's still summer. Where is the corn? As I was checking out at the scan and go I picked up my half gallon of Bluebell ice cream and the lid came off and ice cream dripped all over the floor. The girl that came over to help me was very nice. She took the ice cream and told me to go back and get another half gallon, then she bagged my groceries for me. It wasn't my best moment, but I did give her an opportunity to serve.

James had a meeting at the church this morning and asked me the new password for the internet. I told him Liahona but evidentally that was incorrect. Does anyone reading this blog know what the Church's new internet password is?

James was already home when I got back. He had picked up the mail. Joshua and Rowan's birthday presents arrived.

It says for fourteen and older and the boys are going to be 14 but that kid on the package looks like he is 10.

As soon as I got home and got the groceries put away and James and I each had a bowl of Rocky Road ice cream we headed out on the Razr for higher country. I love the aspen trees.

As Sheri would say, nature is my jam!

A 14 year old girl in our ward who is highly allergic to bees got stung today. Her mom was gone. The Vernon Fire Department, just down the street from where Jasmine lives, came to the rescue. Jasmine was air evacuated to Phoenix Children's Hospital. We had heard that she coded while in the ambulance so everyone in the ward who knew about it was praying for her. Her mom was racing down to the valley in her car to be with her at the hospital.

I am studying the Restoration Proclamation before October General Conference and conference talks from the last conference that go along with it. I suggested we do it with the RS sisters and Tamara suggested I make up a plan and send it for the presidency to look at.
I said I would.

Today is Pierce Goodman's Birthday
Happy Birthday Dear Friend!

You might not find everything you need at Walmart, but
they do have character Christmas ornaments.

Bouncing on the Razr may have contributed
to some of these steps.

And as I have prayed among you even so shall ye pray in my church, among my people who do repent and are baptized in my name. Behold I am the light; I have set an example for you.

Underlying President Nelson's invitation to repent is the principle of agency. We must choose repentance for ourselves. The gospel can't be forced into our hearts. As Elder Renlund said, "Our Heavenly Father's goal in parenting is not to have His children do what is right; it is to have His children choose to do what is right."

I listened to Inklings Institute today. It was Rio because Emily is in Nauvoo and has sketchy cell reception. This week we are studying Elder Cook's confernce talk about revelation and the Holy Ghost. Scripture study is Acts 2.

Anthony didn't make it for the fence building this morning. He did come by to show us his new horse trailer and left a business card.

Looks like the scary horse
I love Anthony. He is an interesting guy to know and to talk to. He just got his advanced Ham radio license and James says he stays up late into the night talking to people all over the world.

I like this quote from my book "Hear Him" A study guide to personal revelation:
"Most frequently, Revelation comes in small increments over time and is granted according to our desire, worthiness, and preparation." - David A. Bednar

I sent Ben a protection scripture, Isaiah 43:2-3: "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee."

I may have already mentioned her but I'm going to mention her again. I have a friend from Chandler. She was the Relief Society president in the Pleasant 1st ward when I was the stake Relief Society president. Her name is Karin Ford. She is married to Robin Ford who was my priesthood advisor for awhile when I served in the stake. They now live in St. George, Utah. Karin is writing her story on Facebook, one entry a day...or so. So far there are 24 entries. I just started yesterday and when I started up again today I was on entry 10. I finished through all 24 and look forward to the next. Karin's story is a story of triumph in overcoming adversity. She lost her first husband and two small children in a plane crash in 1982 and then in 2016 on the 4th of July she lost a son and a grandson. Out of four children she has lost three. She is an amazing person and I am so grateful I got to know her. I am anxious to learn how she and Robin met and married. Several people have told her, including myself, that she should write a book. I hope she does. I will be one of the first to buy it. Here are some quotes from two of her grandsons. The first Luke, is the brother of Max who was killed in the plane crash in 2016. Luke spoke at his brother's funeral. Here is his favorite quote:
"When life gives you 100 reasons to frown, give it 1,000 reasons to smile." - Luke Belnap
"Admire life while it lasts" - Max Belnap
Max said this just a few weeks before his passing. Max did not like to fly with his dad but his friend Ryan was with him and had never flown, so he went with his dad, as did Ryan, on that fatal fourth of July.
The Belnap Family live in Grants Pass, Oregon

According to Karin's story Raduschka was a gypsy girl
and Karen loved her hair.

Luna is loose today and seems to be quite happy. At one point she came over and stood in front of the steps to the front porch. James put her mask on her to keep the flies away from her eyes. When he was finished, she walked away. As if to say, thanks, that's what I wanted.

Our ministering brother, Collin DeWitt called today to ask James if he needed any firewood. Jame said he had a whole hill full of firewood. What he needed now was someone to help him build a fence. Collin said he had family here this weekend but he would be over next week to help. I'm thinking of hiring someone to do our front planter and little patch of grass. I have a feeling this fence is going to take all summer to build. Thank you Collin!
