I woke up at five this morning and studied in my Book of Mormon Study Guide in preparation for our "Come Follow Me" meeting at the Peeler's today.

We are still in quite a mess from cleaning out the pantry. I began putting all of the canned food away. It is amazing how much food I had that I couldn't really see. I know I should not be doing this on Sunday but I just can't stand looking at the mess.

Our "Come Follow Me" was at 10:30 today at the Peeler's. Much to our surprise and satisfaction the Crane's joined us for the first time. We have been trying for months to get them to come.

James and Pierce Goodman blessed and passed the sacrament and then we began reading the lesson. We had quite a bit of discussion about our need to care for the poor. In Mosiah 4:26 it says:
....I would that ye should impart of your substance to the poor, every man according to that which he hath, such as feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and administering to their relief, both spiritually and temporally, according to their wants.

Everyone seemed to place a big emphasis on the word wants, instead of needs. Experiences were shared about food orders where way too much food was requested. We also talked about beggars on the side of the road and if we should help them. Barbara shared that her brother was a beggar for awhile and he told her that he could make up to $500 a day. Barbara said instead of giving people money, she made up some lunch bags to pass around. She called them her "bum bags." I said that it didn't matter what the other person did with the money we gave them. It was important for us to fulfill our covenants by helping those in need. That is what we will be accountable for.

It was a good discussion and we were so glad to have the Crane's here to be a part of it.

We had cookies and water as our light refreshment. I'm glad we didn't have lunch because that takes the pressure off. Next week we will be meeting at our house.

We came home and had some lunch then we both laid down for a nap. I got up around 3:00 and began reading through the repentance talks again. I underlined important quotes I might like to share.

At five o'clock we FaceTimed with Jared, Kacey, Molly, and Charlie. Molly and James had a conversation. He told her to say hello to Anna, Emmy, and James. Molly said, "I don't see James very much because he is in the army."

Charlie is still in to the movie "Cars." Before our Lambson Family Study Group started I asked her if we could see her cars. She ran away and came back with Lightning McQueen and a black car called Storm. I guess she takes them with her wherever she goes.

We had a good family discussion on repentance. My favorite part was the story Kacey told and the scripture Jared shared, DC 93:1
"Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall see my face and know that I am;"

President Kimball said if we haven't experienced this yet, then we have something to look forward to. Those were not his exact words but that is the way I remember the message.

It was a wonderful Sabbath day.

Today is the big day, marked on our calendar for cleaning out the pantry. My job is to take everything out so that James can put up trim and seal out the mice.  I started early after prayer, scriptures, and my blog.  I stacked stuff on the dining room table and when that was full I went to the floor. Honestly, it took me the morning and in to the afternoon to get everything out. Of course I took a couple of breaks to catch up on my "Lark Rise to Candleford" viewing.

James worked at the Howard's this morning. I fed Luna at lunch time. He went back this afternoon to pick up a couple of bales of hay that he bought and he also went to the dump. I guess you are on the honor system at the dump as you put your money in a box. The guy is in the little building but he doesn't come out to greet you and take your money as he normally does.

James wanted to go for a Luna ride but he knew there wouldn't be time if he was going to do the trim in the pantry. He did the right thing and stayed home and did the trim. If even mouse gets in this pantry again it will be through the door like everyone else.

After James was finished I began putting some of the canned goods back in. I checked the dates on items and threw whatever was really outdated away. I am like James, I can't believe how much stuff we got in to one small pantry.

After working for awhile I told James this was our date night and we needed to watch some TV, which we did. We watched two episodes of "Lark Rise to Candleford" before going to bed.

I was going to throw this banana away but
James said no, it was his breakfast. No
wonder he is so hard to get up in the morning,
he can't bear to face his breakfast!

I love how she is resting her foot.

I love these scriptures!
