General Conference
Good Shepherd, Lamb of God
Elder Gerrit W. Gong
"Our Good Shepherd rejoices when we exercise individual moral agency with intention and faith. Those in His fold look to our Savior in gratitude for His atoning sacrifice. We covenant to follow Him, not passively, blindly, or 'sheepishly,' but instead desiring with all our hearts and minds to love God and our neighbor, bearing one another's burdens and rejoicing in one another's joys. As Christ freely dedicated His will to the will of the Father, so we reverently take upon us His name. We gladly seek to join His work of gathering and ministering to all of God's children."

Kathy and Kris were the book webinar presenters today. They always stress the importance of learning to read the Keepa charts as the most important aspect of the business. Kathy said that when she first started she worked on Keepa charts at least two hours a day. I guess this is where I need to put my focus after repricing. I have received Keepa alerts but for some reason they never work out to be good deals. Must try harder! On the positive side today was the best day I've had selling books.

James had to go to town again today because we forgot to pick up his meds yesterday. I stayed at home and did my thing and ate the following snacks: turkey bacon, pickles, a Dilly bar and a plain Hershey's bar.

I love reading the Aunt Dimity books again. It's like having a set of new books because it's been so long since I have read them. My friend Karen S. is the one who introduced me to Aunt Dimity.

We received some news we didn't expect to receive today. We did not get our Chase loan. We were frustrated because of all the hoops we had to jump through and a little sad but James said he would go back to Quicken and see if we could get one there. We must get rid of the high interest rate on our business line of credit loan.

I couldn't sleep tonight. I got up around 1:00 a.m., ate a bowl of blueberry Cheerios and read from Aunt Dimity and finally went back to sleep.

Happy First Birthday Charlie!

Don't try to take my cake!

Such lovely centerpieces!
I don't think I have ever seen a cuter baby!

Another cutie!

General Conference
Exercising Our Spiritual Muscles
Juan Pablo Villar
"If we seek more patience, we may find ourselves needing to practice it while waiting for a response. If we want to have more love for our neighbor, we can foster it by sitting next to a new face at church. With faith it is similar: when doubts come to our minds, trusting in the Lord's promises will be required to move forward. In this way, we are exercising spiritual muscles and developing them into sources of strength in our lives."

We had to be at the hospital by 7 this morning for James's biopsy procedure on his throat. First we went to outpatient because that's where James says he was told to go. The girl at the checkin desk said he was on the list but when they called us back for surgery prep, the girl couldn't find James's name and so we were told to go to surgery check-in. This bumbling around doesn't give me much confidence in the efficiency of this hospital.

Anyway, he got checked in and was assigned to pre-op room 8. Our nurse was from Sweden and just recently moved to Arizona from the east coast. I said well it's a good thing you are up here instead of in Phoenix. She said she lived in Buckeye and only came up here three days a week. The hospital wants her full-time but her husband says, "no way," he's not moving to Show Low. We enjoyed talking to her. She said James must have viking ancestors because of the muscles in his arms. She was friendly and funny and put James at ease.

I left to do some errands while James had the procedure done. I got gas, washed the car, and was doing some shopping in Walmart when I got the call that he was done and ready to be picked up.
I hurried back to the hospital. He got dressed, was wheeled out in a wheel chair. He felt good and wanted to do some errands.

We went to CVS and asked for a refill on one of his prescriptions. While we were waiting for it to be filled we went to Cal-Ranch to look for some shoes for James, and went through Burger King for some food. James was starving! The shoes were all too expensive so we did not buy any. Next we went to Dairy Queen and picked up a box of cherry Dilly bars. Next we were supposed to go back to CVS to pick up the prescription but we were both so excited about the ice cream that we forgot and drove home. James will have to come back tomorrow.

We have a woman interested in buying one of our cemetery plots. James made the arrangements and she is going to send us a cashier check through the mail.

I spent the afternoon repricing books. I sold seven books today!
I also walked and blogged before the Grapp's came around 7 to watch "When Calls the Heart."

Sheri sent us her letter from Ben so it was a good day.

can't believe you've been out a
