Oakland, California temple

James started his job at Desert Highlands today.  Somehow he pulls workers out of the air and makes things happen.  He is really quite amazing.  He also got Seth to work on the golf course with him.

Jared's girls love bagels and cream cheese.  I think that's what they have had for breakfast everyday that they have been here.

Jared wanted to spend some time with his kids before he had to head for home.  They are going home with Tricia.  He dropped Anna and James off at a movie while he took Emmy and Molly to the Main Event in Tempe.  I took this picture before they all left.
I love this family!
James loves music, Emmy loves sports and learning.
Anna is more quiet but is quite the artist!
Molly loves to write and play the match game.  When I played her
she beat me 21-10.
I can't wait to see them again at the end of July when they are coming to the cabin for a visit.

Ben came down to work this morning and I helped him clean around the BBQ grill outside.  Evan came down to visit with both me and Joshua.  If Joshua is still in the bedroom he comes in and talks to me.

I had Cathi's cleaning ladies, Heather and Louise clean today for three hours.  They did a great job and charged me $80.  I paid them $100 because I liked them so well.

I finally finished cleaning the entryway closet.
A little organization can certainly boost morale.
Since Adam is staying here for awhile I got to visit with him today before he left for work.  He ordered a sandwich from Jimmie Johns and they delivered it.  Nice to know.  He left for work around 12:15 when his boss came and picked him up.  He is teaching a group of children about theater at the Tuscany Theater.

James and I sat down to dinner tonight while Paul, Stacy, Michael, Jared Ammon and Joshua played Scattergories as part of their FHE.

Joshua and Jared were partners.  Joshua says Jared is his favorite brother.

I read to James from "Girl in the Gatehouse."  It is our entertainment and escape.  We were in bed by 9 as James has to get up at 4.

Words of Wisdom from an
Apostle of the Lord.

It seems funny not to be preparing a Primary lesson.  James and I read scriptures and had family prayer together.  I also studied from the New Testament student manual and played a rhyming game and did a Dora puzzle with Molly and then she fell back asleep before church.  Emmy showed me her favorite computer game.  I also tried to play "catchup" with my Sunday journal.

Adam rode with us to church and told us about J.R. Gale's divorce and how his ex-wife has left the Church.  He is trying to get custody of his little boy.  So sad.  His temple marriage only lasted three years.

This will be our last Sunday as members of the Galveston 3rd ward.  James, Sheri, and I all bore our testimonies in fast and testimony meeting, and James and I said our goodbyes.  After James's testimony little Brooklyn Leib came down and gave us both hugs and sat on James's lap for awhile.  I love this little girl and told her mom I would love to take her with me.  We certainly are going to miss all of the kids in our Primary class.
Brooklyn is the sweet little blonde on the far left.
Taylor, Ryder, Broolyn, Malachi, Liam,
Isaiah, Shade, and Callie.
These kids love Brother Lambson!

After sacrament meeting our family gathered in the family history room because it is bigger than he bishop's office for Max's ordination to the office of a deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood.
James was voice for the ordination and the following were in the circle: Bishop Lewis, Paul, Brian, Ian, Michael, Darrel, and Jared.
The Trezise Family
In Sunday School Brother Jeppsen gave a lesson on the Atonement.  During the course of the lesson Brother Jeppsen recited the words to "I Stand All Amazed".  James leaned over and told me his feelings about "I Stand All Amazed" the first time he heard it as a youth.  He said it affected him so that he went home and memorized the words because of how it made him feel.
In Relief Society Lynette Braddock gave a lesson on the importance of love in missionary work.  I sat by Gerry Price and had a nice visit with her and was able to say goodbye.  The bishop came in  and read a letter from the First Presidency regarding the gay marriage decision.

When we got home from church we broke our fast and Michael cooked some of the leftover burgers Darrel and Trina left for lunch.  Michael, Adam, Jared, James, James Hayden, and Anna all had a burger.  Molly and Emmy went home with Trina and Darrel after Max's ordination.

Jared and Paul and Michael watched the women's soccer team play against Japan for the World Cup.  I was cleaning the kitchen and I watched too.  It was an amazing game with the USA winning 5-2.  Our first World Cup in sixteen years.

Happy First Birthday to
Miss Lola!
Happy Birthday America!

James and I started the Book of Mormon again for the third time this year.  We also are continuing our reading of the New Testament.  We read about Cornelius becoming the first Gentile convert and how he fasted for four days to know the Lord's will for him.

James and I went to Brooksie's this afternoon to get propane for our BBQ this evening.  I also went shopping at Walmart for stuff for potato salad, and peach cobbler.  I spent the rest of the day boiling and chopping ingredients for potato salad.  The peach cobbler only had three ingredients so it didn't take long to fix.

Jared and his kids got home from their trip to California.  It seems that everyone had a good time but Jared looks exhausted!

The day started out mild and overcast but it heated up in the afternoon.  There is lots of rain at the cabin and in the Show Low area right now.

James has worked so hard on the house.  I hope he can take some time today to relax.  Lola's party started around 6pm with a BBQ provided by Darrel and Trina, and the kids swimming.
The following people attended Lola's party: Bob and Suzy Case, their daughter Tristan and her baby Rhia.  Darrel, Trina, Addy, Rowan, Ruby, Lola, Jared, James, Anna, Emmy, Molly, Kim, Brian, Joe, Chelsea Pace and her boys Cash and Carter, Stacy, Paul, Jared Ammon and Joshua.  Adam moved in today but he wasn't here for the party as he had another party to go to as did Michael.  I suppose this will be our last family gathering in this house which makes it memorable and a little nostalgic.

Steroids and narcotics are keeping me going right now.

At 9:00 we outside in the street and watched the fireworks set off at Tumble Weed Park.

Sheri and I went to the temple this morning to do initiatories.  We saw Ernesto and Hillary Jiminez.  They had done baptisms with their two daughters, Evie and Elise.
I love doing initiatories and hearing the blessings associated with this sacred ordinance.  Sheri did some Trezise names that Jared had found.  We each did five names.  Sheri said she felt the Spirit testify to her that at least two of the sisters were there accepting the work.

Before I left for the temple this morning had to clean out our bedroom in preparation for getting rid of the popcorn ceiling, re-texturing and painting a new one.  I was displaced most of the day to the family room where I worked on paying bills. So grateful to have the means to be able to pay our bills.
We were all sad to hear of President Packer's passing
but know he is happy where he is, although
he will miss his loved ones he left behind.

This afternoon I went shopping at Target for Lola's birthday.  I bought her a swimsuit, a cute play outfit with a stars and stripes theme, and three toys, including a play phone.  I also bought soup and sandwiches for James and myself for dinner and some of his favorite Queen Anne cherries.  James was able to finish in our room and we actually slept in our own bed tonight in our room.  There for awhile I didn't think it was going to happen.
This guy makes things happen!

This little girl would look cute in anything!

Alex sanding and touching up paint
on the new kitchen lights.

Alex, Seth, Ben, and Joe Kelly have certainly been a big help with our renovating of our home here in Chandler.  I don't know what we would have done without them.

Jared and his kids left for California this morning for a two day vacation.  They are going to the beach and then on to Magic Mountain.  I am a little worried about Jared.  He looks awfully tired.

This is the first time I have felt like going anywhere for awhile.  I texted Kim and Sheri to see if they wanted to take Max and Evan to see the new Disney Pixar movie "Inside Out."  Ben ended up going with us too.  We all liked the movie.  It was insightful and clever and very family oriented.  Thank goodness there are still a few good movies out there.

I had a nice chat with Vickie today.  She is cleaning out closets, etc. at her house to make room for Colby, Cher and Brian.  Colby is back from Florida, and Brian and Cher are coming back from Washington.  Since they leased out their house, they need a place to stay.  As Vickie was cleaning she found the old Mickey Mouse phone I had given to my mom one year for her birthday.  She asked me if I wanted it.  At first I said no, but when she sent me this picture I changed my mind.  I do want to keep it.
Surely I can find a place to set this in our cabin even though
we won't be using it as a phone.

James and I had dinner at the Rubio's next to the Crossroads theater on Gilbert and Germann.  We each had a fish taco and James also had a chicken toastado.  He liked the toastado the best.  I loved my fish taco with guacamole.

We came home and read from "The Girl in the Gatehouse."  Reading a novel together is our escape, especially since we don't watch much T.V.

Happy 12th Birthday Max!!

This young man is smart, witty, and an amazing football player... just to mention a few of his many fine attributes!

I think I overdosed on hydrocodone last night and had to sleep it off this morning.  I started on prednisone today and felt better this afternoon than I have felt in a long time.  I got out of bed and did some cleaning and vacuuming and went shopping to get Max a card and some cash.

At 4pm this afternoon the Wallen's, Tricia's parents, brought Jared's kids over.  This evening for dinner James and I took the girls to Peter Piper for dinner.  James stayed to hang out with Ben and Max.

Later Trina came by with her kids for a visit.  It got a little crazy for awhile.  Jared got here somewhere between 9 and 10 from El Paso.

Evan was here too, to make it even more fun.

I learned the difference today between goats and sheep in the Lord's kingdom.  The main difference is whom they choose to follow and the service they give.  Goats do their own thing while sheep follow the good shepherd and try to emulate Him.

Happy 26th Anniversary
Stacy & Paul

James called the arthritis doctors this morning and told them I was so bad I couldn't even hold a cup in my hand.  The girl he spoke to, Misty, said she was sorry but sometimes it takes 48 hours for Rosie to respond.  Are they really that busy?
Later Rosie called and said we could come to the office and pick up a prescription for hydrocodone and take it to the pharmacy because it is against the law for the to call it in since it is a narcotic.  They also called in a prescription for prednisone.
James made two trips to Walmart: one for lotion for Gerry Price's birthday, and one for prescriptions.  He delivered visiting teaching handouts to Karen Payne and Gerry Price.
 Virtue, a Christlike attribute

We had a little bit of a fiasco this evening.  James had to turn the water off to fix something under the kitchen sink.  Unbeknowst to James Stacy was just getting ready to rinse color dye from her hair.  It was stressful for awhile but the water was only off a few minutes and a disaster was diverted.  Stacy was preparing for her anniversary date with Paul.

James and I had a date of our own with Ben and Max for Max's birthday.  We went to Nello's for dinner.  I am so lame for not taking pictures of these two handsome sweet boys.  One of our favorite things to get is the cheesy bread.  I had the margarita pizza which is my absolute favorite.  James had the Alaskan crab pizza.
We so enjoyed our time with these boys.
